Hi, I'm Ashley & This Is My Story
Hi! I’m Ashley! I’m a stay at home mom of two little girls, Delaney & Daphne, that are the greatest thing to ever happen to their father and I. Bob and I have been married since 2010, and I consider myself one lucky girl to be married to my best friend. I am an artist at heart and have a serious innate need to create. I knew from a very young age I wanted to be an artist, and went to school to get an art degree (which pretty much means I spent 5 year drawing lots of naked people, subjecting myself to ridicule through critiques, and pulling back-to-back all-nighters). I lived in the studios and if given the opportunity to get my Master’s in Fine Art I’d do it in a heartbeat. I loved the art school life.
After graduating, I worked in technology sales for almost ten years. An obvious connection, right?!?! Really I just love people and found early on that sales are just relationships! Before the birth of our second daughter, my husband and I decided it was time for me to come home and assume the full time role as social liaison & event coordinator of the Runkle Household! I was made for motherhood and love this new chapter.
In July 2016, I had a little idea for a product and company. I shared it with my husband and with his support and encouragement I started trying to make Kiddo Keepsakes a reality. That October, we had an opportunity to pitch our business idea at ‘The Big Idea Pitch Competition’ where we were finalists and went on to compete for one of the top 5 spots. We placed 3rd at the finals gaining support, mentorships, and a prize package –all of which helped propel this little passion project into a reality!
When I’m not trying to start a business or raise tiny humans, my hobbies include all things DIY, taking way too many pictures of my kids, and having the occasional rough day getting my butt kicked by two toddlers. We’ve all been there …counting down to their bedtime only to become weepy and miss them later when they’re in bed. I’m a big fan of Pinning things I wholeheartedly know I can create, but only half-heartedly have the time and energy for. I love dating my husband, traveling, craft beer, and my daily texts and check-ins with my little sister.
It’s crazy to me that this little finger-painting activity I was doing at home with my girls has become an actual company and product. Welcome to my little corner of the web, and THANK YOU for supporting this company. If you want to learn more about me feel free to stalk my Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest accounts. If you’ve made it this far in my bio already, I’m pretty sure we could be best friends and I’d stalk you in return. Thank you again, I’m so tickled and humbled that you’re here!
